The Morris Park Singers are performing
at Carnegie Hall!
We are so excited and honored to say that we will be part of a presentation of Kyle Pederson's 'A Vision Unfolding', presented by Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY) at Carnegie Hall on January 17th, 2027.
How did this happen?
If you joined us for our December 2025 concerts, you may remember a particularly beautiful piece titled 'Bend', by local composer Kyle Pederson. This was one of our favorite pieces as a choir, and highlighted our group's ability to connect to the emotion of a piece.
While we were proud of our performance, we had no idea where it would take us!
A few months later, Artistic Director Danny Dahlquist-Johnson received an email from DCINY. They had seen the a video of our performance, and were so impressed that they wanted us to be a part of one of their concerts at Carnegie Hall!
Is this a big deal?
In a word... yes! DCINY is a leading producer of world-class concert experiences featuring artists from around the world. We are thrilled to be able to represent Minnesota in performing an incredible work by one of our favorite local composers!
Normally a group would need to apply and audition to be part of a performance like this, however they were so impressed with our performance, they thought it fitting to invite us to participate.
For a non-auditioned community choir that's less than five years old, it's a huge honor for us and a testament to the hard work and artistic leadership provided by Danny throughout our now nine seasons.

One of the Morris Park Singers' founding principles was providing a way to make music participation accessible.
Singing at Carnegie Hall is a dream come true for a lot of the singers. However, this is also an expensive trip. And since we're still a very young nonprofit, the choir could not cover very much of the cost for the singers.
We have been working hard to fundraise as much as we can, but every little bit helps ensure everyone has a chance to be a part of this amazing opportunity, no matter their income.
